If you face an issue during BizTalk360 upgrade process where the "Database Connection verified" step is not validated (shows a red cross mark), the reason for this error is that the SQL Server name was not updated properly in the registry. It was simply picked up from the Registry and shown in the installer. There may be chances that you have moved the BizTalk360 database from one server to another, and the registry might not have been updated properly post the migration process.
To make sure SQL server name has been updated in the Registry, follow the steps as shown below:
- Open Run, execute the "regedit.exe" command
- Navigate by the path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BizTalk360\Properties"
- Select "RegServerName" and see if the SQL server name is updated properly
- If the server name has not been modified, right click and modify (new) the SQL Server name
After updating the SQL Server name try to upgrade BizTalk360 using the same steps that you did previously.
