In this topic, we will show you the steps to perform the export and import functionality in BizTalk360.

Scenario

For the purpose of understanding the process better, let's consider the source environment to be ACME from where we will be exporting the alarms and the destination environment to be ACME-QA where we will be importing the alarms. The source environment contains 3 alarms that are responsible to monitor different aspects of the environment. The details of the alarms are as follows:

  • Alarm 1 - Monitors the BizTalk server's disks, NT services, SQL server's disks and system resources, and the BizTalk Environment's host instances and message box viewer
  • Alarm 2 - Monitors an application's service instance and send ports, BizTalk server's disks, NT service, and system resources. SQL server's disks and system resources, and the BizTalk environment's webpoints
  • Alarm 3 - Monitors the BizTalk environment's message box viewer and some data monitoring configurations
  • Alarm 4 - Monitors an application's service instances, orchestrations, send ports, and receive locations, BizTalk server's disks and system resources, SQL server's disks and system resources, and the BizTalk environment's message box viewer
  • Two of the applications (BTS2013002_CustomerOrderRouting & ContosoPOReceive) in the source environment does not exist in the destination environment
  • One of the alarms in the source environment already exists in the destination environment

The following steps and screenshots depict the complete end-to-end operation of this scenario:
